Welcome!

The Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network of Manitowoc County (LIHN) is an available resource for one or two parent families with children who are currently homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless because of their current housing situation. If you are in this situation or know someone who is, LIHN may be able to help.

LIHN provides shelter, meals, support, and case management in a caring environment for 30 days to assist families on a transitional basis. During this time, guests ideally are able to address the issues which brought them to their homeless situation and work on reestablishing their independence.

LIHN utilizes volunteers and space in congregations throughout the county to provide overnight accommodations, three meals per day, and hospitality to up to 14 guests in the program at one time. During the day, guests reside at a Day Center. From there they can go to work, school, and/or look for work, housing and other community resources which will help them get back on their feet.

LIHN was established to address the fact that Manitowoc County does not have a homeless shelter for families other than those who are victims of domestic violence. Through volunteer hours and donated congregation space, LIHN can provide the services needed to assist a family while they work towards resolving their homeless situation.
